About MBF Programs

MBF Prevention Education Programs are comprehensive, evidence-based/evidence-informed primary prevention programs that educate and empower youth with the MBF 5 Safety Rules© and strategies to prevent, recognize, and respond appropriately to bullying, cyberbullying, the four types of child abuse (physical, emotional, sexual, neglect), exploitation, trafficking, and digital dangers. All program lessons are age- and developmentally appropriate and use active learning strategies and reinforcement materials.

The programs were developed WITH schools, not FOR schools, to make the best use of existing resources and ensure schools and youth-serving organizations have effective programs that are easy to implement. School-based programs are presented in two comprehensive lessons ranging from 35-55 minutes (or in four shorter lessons) by trained facilitators in classrooms. Facilitators present turnkey scripts along with engaging, interactive PowerPoints including lecture, group discussion, skills-practice activities, videos, and games.

In addition, MBF Prevention Education Programs are NO COST to Florida Public Schools and partnering organizations (like Child Advocacy Centers).

Four independent research studies have examined the effectiveness of the program with positive results for both student knowledge gains and facilitator implementation fidelity.

What They're Saying...

The MBF Child Safety Matters program is impressive. This important information is well formulated and well presented, developmentally appropriate, and based on good understanding of literature.

There’s not a child in the world who can’t benefit from this program. There are so many instances where we see children who have been damaged and hurt. Things happened to them and we think, if they’d only had this program, if they’d only had the benefit of this education, that might not have happened to them. If we can prevent that from happening to a single child, then it’s worth all the effort we have put forth

I heard about the program through my son. He came home…and showed me the safety rules. I cannot thank the Foundation enough; to have other people who are also concerned about my child’s safety and the safety of other kids is wonderful. I especially like the program’s focus on the prevention side.
