JACKSONVILLE, Fla. “It is one of the greatest honors to witness the roots of Monique’s legacy bloom into the powerful force it is today,” said Edward Burr, MBF Founder and Board Chairman. “What began as a vision grounded in compassion has grown into a lifeline—one that has served, empowered, and protected countless children. Every young life touched is a reminder of Monique’s enduring impact and the extraordinary community that continues to carry her mission forward.”

The annual tournament offered corporate teams and individuals the opportunity to golf with professional golfers at The Palencia Club in St. Augustine. Funds raised from the tournament benefit MBF Prevention Education programs, which are designed to educate and empower youth, equipping them with strategies to prevent, recognize, and respond appropriately to challenges such as bullying, online exploitation, child abuse, trafficking, and other types of victimization.

“MBF has achieved yet another year of transformational impact, reaching 18.5 million youth this year,” said Tanya Ramos-Puig, MBF Chief Executive Officer. “Children and teens served through our prevention education programs are now educated and empowered to recognize and report child abuse, bullying, online dangers, exploitation, and trafficking. This is a remarkable milestone, and it’s a testament to the dedication and passion of every individual who supported and sponsored this event. Together we will continue to prioritize the safety of our most vulnerable citizens—children!”

MBF has increased the number of children served by over 2 million since last year. Thanks to partners, supporters, and advocates, MBF has reached more than 18 million youth and trained nearly 10,000 facilitators, reaching 42 states and territories including Puerto Rico and six countries.

Jim Furyk and Mark McCumber were proudly honored as the 2025 Champions for Child Safety Award recipients in recognition of their continued dedication and unwavering commitment to supporting the MBF Pro-Am. From the very beginning, both have stood alongside the Foundation, playing an integral role in the tournament’s success since its inception. Their longstanding support, leadership, and passion for protecting children have helped elevate the event year after year, making a lasting impact on the mission of MBF and the countless children it serves.

What They're Saying...

The MBF Teen Safety Matters curriculum hosts an in-depth approach to important social and safety concerns relevant to youth. The program content is age-appropriate with engaging activities, jargon, and realistic situations to positively promote a relatable and impacting learning experience…Teen Safety Matters is an educational benefit to all parties involved – students, parents, facilitators, and schools.

There’s not a child in the world who can’t benefit from this program. There are so many instances where we see children who have been damaged and hurt. Things happened to them and we think, if they’d only had this program, if they’d only had the benefit of this education, that might not have happened to them. If we can prevent that from happening to a single child, then it’s worth all the effort we have put forth

The MBF Child Safety Matters program is impressive. This important information is well formulated and well presented, developmentally appropriate, and based on good understanding of literature.
